I stayed just one day for business but definitely will come back. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the restaurant/bar in the first floor “Te quiero mucho “ serves excellent Mexican style food, and drinks!
The location was great as many bars, cafes, restaurants around, Soho is just down the road. The MTR station is not far, around 10min walking.
The room had all what you need. It may seem silly but I appreciated that the gels, shampoos, cond.. come in a big bottle to share, well bigger than those small plastic little bottle in most hotels that I always find a waste of plastic.
The room was nice, a bit small compared to others but who wants to be in the took in Hong Kong anyway!
Highly recommended for open minded travellers.
Definitely I love this amazing and very unique property!
We booked just for two nights and everything was perfect .
The staff was amazing, professional, friendly and very very helpful!! Thank you guys!
I booked to stay here for 5 nights based on the recommendation of a friend - good quality and slightly cheaper than most older hotels in HK.
I was not disappointed - pleasantly surprised by the medium tier room I’d booked - wasn’t the shoe box I was expecting. Comfy bed, great shower pressure, nice toiletries, room serviced everyday - all the basics covered to a high standard.
Location is fab - 10-15 mins walk to ferry terminals to Macao and other island, the IFC for shops and food, and the main shops in central. 8 minute cab to Happy Valley for the races.
This hotel also has an amazing restaurant, I ate here twice and the staff made me feel at home being a solo traveller. They have a self laundry which was great for me, the reception staff were helpful in arranging my airport taxi.
Genuinely can’t fault this place, if I’m ever in HK I will stay here and I would happily recommend.
We have been staying at Five-stars hotels for the past week and was unsure what to expect at this hotel. We were greeted by very helpful staffs and the room looked fabulous! We were very happy with our stay.
- Great location! Short walk to Central station/IFC/Ferry to Macau. (P.S. Google maps will guide you to a long-winded road to IFC but there’s actually a short-cut through a building.)
- All the staffs I have encountered were professional, very helpful and friendly.
- Stayed in the Medium room with 3 Extra Large luggages and 1 carry-on luggage so we did feel the room was a bit small for those but it wasn’t too much of an issue.
- VERY comfy bed!
- Shower was delightful - strong water pressure with rain shower.
- There’s Apple TV and fast wifi to watch Netflix!
Will definitely return!
Couldn't ask for a better stay in HK. Great hotel with great, friendly staff. Conveniently located in Central. We even forgot an item we purchased while rushing to the airport and the hotel was nice to enough to contact us to ship. Would totally stay here again.
We were there for 3 nights, reception staffs are very polite and nice. Rooms are small but decorated very nicely. What I love is the toilet amenities, there provide good quality shampoo, hair conditioner, shower jel, hand wash and body lotion.
We were there for a couple of days during our honeymoon and had the greatest time. The hotel is really clean, with newly remodeled facilities and greatly located inside the island. The staff at the hotel is very nice and helpful and the general manager Adrian is super kind and welcoming, we had the opportunity to sit down and talk to him for a little while about his activity recommendations within the city, which btw were very good. Our truly favorite thing about this hotel was it’s Mexican restaurant TQM. After a long touristic day all we wanted to do was find a good bar to relax in. And there’s really no better thing than to have one at the bottom floor of your hotel. Food is absolutely fantastic, cocktails are amazing, beer options are really good, great music/ambiance and to top it off the staff is amazing! The chef Alfonso walks through the tables asking how everything was and that to me is a great gesture not many chefs have. Maxi and Paul were the best, super nice and friendly. We really had the greatest time!!
We didn't stay in the hotel but did go to the restaurant. The food was lovely if you're looking for Western food while in Hong Kong, though it's a bit pricey. Worth having breakfast here if you're staying close to the area.
Fearing for my safety...
Checked into this relatively 'new' hotel two nights ago, and between 3-5am on a Wednesday night, I had my 23rd level room's door repeatedly thumped by a drunk and disorderly stranger.
Shaken, and rightfully concerned for my safety, I called the front desk, who proceeded to do absolutely nothing – and in the morning, when I requested a full refund for my trip, to move someplace safer – due to a breach in the hotels duty of care for myself as a paying customer, I was told that I will have to forego my full stay because of the group's no-refund policy. What a joke.
No apology was offered from management, only a 'fair' offer as they termed it, to compensate some of my remaining nights, acknowledging their liability – but still not respecting the fact that they had done wrong, and were not entitled to my money.
Location was good with lots of cafes and eateries and 10 min walk to subway station.
Stayed a total of 5 nights with 2 out of 5 nights in the small private room and 3 out of 5 nights in the shared dorm. The transition between the 2 room types was smooth but when they moved my bags from the lobby to the 2nd room, one of the staff was not careful and my guess is they dropped my bag along the way which resulted in slight damage of my laptop. Although I cannot prove it was definitely their fault, I was quite sure as I checked my laptop before I left it to the lobby staff. I decided not to pursure the matter as I had very important meetings those 2 days.
The private room was small but expected. Lighting was inadequate and the room appeared to be dark most of the time. There was no desk in the room and the bed was quite hard for my liking. The pillows were too soft. The worst about the room was that the sound insulation was close to none. I could hear clearly when someone opened and closed the door outside and when the room next door drew the curtains. Could also hear talking/TV noise from next door. Difficult to get a good nights rest. Overall room and bathroom were clean with bathroom having the usual toiletries that you may need.
The shared dorm was spacious enough with your own locker (built in number lock). Lighting was good. Each bed had a TV but could only tune to one channel and the signal was also very bad. There were no headphones provided. You will have to request for a TV remote from the front desk if you need one. My advice is don't bother with the TV. Privacy curtains were good but do not block out the light fully. There were sufficient power sockets and places to place your personal belongings. Bed was slightly hard and pillows too soft. One bathroom to share between 6-8 ppl (some beds were meant for 2). However, there is an extra bathroom outside the room on the same floor which can be used too. Bathroom was very small but expected and comes with most toiletries you will need. Room was quite clean except for shelves on bedside that were dusty.
Restaurant on 1st floor serves up good food and drinks. Common room is great! Quiet, comfortable, lots of power sockets, complimentary tea and coffee and water filter present. Card access to most places make it secure.
Did not use the gym.
Overall, I would not recommend it if you are travelling for business and need a good nights rest. Would also not recommend it if you were travelling and want a comfortable stay. Would only recommend it if u would like a fairly private hostel bed and are on a budget holiday where you would spend most time outside. This is my 3rd Ovolo establishment I have stayed at and the worst out of the 3.
We were a scared because the hotel is brand new but it exceed our expectations. I loved the staff treatment, they were always helpful to tell us what places to visit, Adrian (the manager) is super friendly, he speaks perfect Spanish, so for us, that was awesome and helped a lot.
The WiFi works great, the rooms have all the things you need they have a small fridge so you can buy food and keep it there, they were always clean and the location is unbeatable for the price.
The Mexican restaurant is great, it’s really nice to find a little piece of your country in the other side of the world.
I've stayed at Ovolo brands before. I'd say overall the experience was good and even though the rooms are tiny its a hip and classy brand. Unfortunately I cant say the same for Mojo Nomad.
First of all, their new brand Mojo Nomad is a little confusing on the pricing side. When I booked on Trip.com the 8 bedroom room was $120, the 6 bedroom one was $125 and the 1 person was $135! So why would you share a room when for $15 more you can get your own...so whats the point of sharing if its not much cheaper!
- The biggest problem was the bed through - the mattress was rock hard. I do prefer a softer mattress but can deal with harder if there is some sort of a pad on top. Its hard to believe that for a 200 room hotel there were no mattress toppers available for guests like myself.
- The managers solution at the reception was "Those mattresses are older and we don't have any single rooms with newer ones." If you want a softer mattress get a bigger room ( the double rooms go for about $250 when I booked). This is not acceptable. Your housekeeping could easily purchase 2-3 toppers for those single rooms. Problem solved.
