There wasn't much noteworthy about this hotel.
The name is a bit misleading. It is definitely not a boutique hotel, at least not according to western standards. Furthermore, it was listed as a four star hotel, which it also is not! The service and interior of the hotel were alright. Two bottles of water were also provided which was quite nice.
As others have mentioned, the carpet is quite stained. I didn't find it a problem big enough to move elsewhere, but it is something you have to consider.
Prime central location close to plenty of restaurants and shops around it. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable, good WiFi, English language cable tv if so desired, a decent sized fridge, a big bathroom with a good size bathtub and a convenience shop just outside the hotel. Staff didn’t speak English, but were perfectly pleasant and efficient. As some reviews below stated the hallway carpet had some stains on it. Since I was not planning on rolling naked down the hallway I did not view this as a particular problem. This is a basic hotel, so if you’re expecting 5* service then pay 5* money and go stay at the Hyatt etc. If you just want a clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay in the city centre then this would be a good option. I’d return.
I looked at the pictures on Agoda and booked as it seemed to be in city center (which it was in, no doubt). But there was hardly a clear review to depend on, and I was in a hurry, so booked it anyways.
On arrival, it was clearly a mistake. The entrance was through a filthy dirty lift (it was clear there was some construction on in the building). The lobby was very dull and drab, no English was spoken (which is not a problem).
But the real shock was in the lobby to the room and in the room itself. It was stinking to high heavens of cigarette smoke. The worst was the carpets - they were so dirty, I could not take my shoes off in the hotel. They were the dirtiest surface I have ever set my foot on, even with shoes on. The room was full of stale smoke smell. The AC didn't work well. The bathroom was big but had broken partition, so the whole place got wet when taking a bath.
There is no other facility in the hotel , no reading material, and only local Chinese channels on TV. Not a single English word to be read or seen on TV. The wifi- was very poor, and slow on that night, but the staff did help to get it connected.
Even for Chinese nationals, this place should be avoided for its dirty room and carpets. One could easily catch a disease here - it is so dirty.
Sorry to be so brutally honest, but I don't want others to suffer like I did.
Thre is nothing boutique abut this hotel or charming. It is plan right horrible!
